Tampere University of Technology

Tampere University of Technology (TUT) conducts scientific research in technology, natural sciences and architecture and provides highest level of education within these fields. TUT was established in 1965 and it has over 12,000 students and it employs about 2,000 professionals.

Transportation Engineering is a significant research unit of the Department of Business Information Management and Logistics in TUT. The field of research and education of Transportation Engineering includes the ITS domain which is integrated with transportation system planning and logistics. Combining transportation engineering with future studies and business information management creates the unique strength of the unit. Good relations with all TUT research units enable versatile research projects of different levels in the area of intelligent transportation systems

VTT

VTT Technical Research Centre develops and applies information and communication technology solutions, for example, in sustainable and safe transport. The applications range from sensor development, sensor networks, cooperative transport services to user-driven main device applications.

VTT currently employs around 2800 people. Besides Finland, offices are located in Palo Alto, California, St Petersburg, Russia, China, Shanghai and in Seoul, Korea.
